As a member of the CardioPumonary Rehab team, the RN is responsible for the coordination of direct and indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process. This position is responsible for providing primary nursing care to cardiac and pulmonary rehab patients in an outpatient exercise setting. The RN performs direct nursing intervention and assists other professional personnel in the delivery of nursing, rehabilitation, education of the patient (and/or patient's family) and promotes participation in the rehab program to patients with cardiac and/or pulmonary disease. The RN role includes operation of the monitors as well as interpretation of the cardiac rhythm, assessment and documentation of rehab participants response to exercise and strength training while triaging notable changes in participants condition and initiates appropriate interventions. The RN must be able to self-direct their work independently as well as participate in as an equal member in teams and achievement of department and organizational goals. Demonstrates extensive knowledge and expertise in dealing with cardiac and pulmonary illness in applying principles of exercise physiology and related education materials as it relates to both cardiac and pulmonary patient population. Participates in and delivers all care included in Phase 1 rehabilitation. The RN is directly accountable and responsible for the quality of nursing care rendered.

Graduated of an accredited school or college of nursing.
SPECIALIZED TRAINING REQUIRED:
Telemetry experience preferred. Cardiac rehabilitation experience preferred.
LICENSE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
CONTINUING EDUCATION & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Population Specific continuing competency requirements:
Basic EKG exam (80% or better)
Cardiac medication exam(80% or better)
Previous experience preferred.
