JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the daily production of food for patients, cafeteria and catering

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Is effective in organizing work station for preparing day's entrees and hot/ cold items. Keeps waste and overproduction to a minimum. Always has a positive impact on the team's performance by being prepared and anticipating the needs of others. Per direct observation and staff and customer feedback.
  • Is competent in performing the position standards and scored 85% or higher on the performance audits. Scored 95% or higher on performance audits.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of food service sanitation and HACCP. Uses accepted techniques in the handling, preparation, storage, and service of food items to patients, employees, and guests. Consistently meets and/or exceeds HACCP position standards. Per direct observation, temperature logs, and performance audits.
  • Produces high quality foods for patients, cafeteria and catering. Tastes foods being prepared for quality and seasoning, follows standardized recipes, ensures that portion size does not vary and that all foods are cooked to the proper temperature. Rarely is food refused due to poor quality. Per direct observation and absence of customer complaints.
  • Exhibits the ability to keep up with the pace and does so calmly, accurately, and efficiently. Work is error free. Per direct observation, staff and customer feedback.
  • Is familiar with restrictions of modified diets and food allergies as presented in the Dietary policies and procedures. Tray quality assessments >90%.
  • Direct observation and absence of customer complaints.
  • Must have regular, reliable, predictable attendance in performance of essential job functions.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High School diploma or equivalent required

LICENSE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

Possesses and maintains a current State of Washington Food and Beverage Worker's Permit

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum two years of food cooking experience in a full service, high volume restaurant, hotel hospital or equivalent is required. Equivalent could include culinary training or other closely related work.
